I started medical school in my 30s, and moved to the Caribbean with my husband and 3 kids. It's been quite an adventure, and I'm glad they went on this wild ride with me. I trained in Family Medicine and work as a Hospitalist. When I'm not working, I'm pretty busy.
In my free time, I love to help out at My Friend's Place in Hollywood. I've also traveled overseas to volunteer in Dominica after Hurricane Maria, I spent a week in Haiti over the summer last year (our return trip was postponed this year due to political unrest), and I volunteer with a great group of pre-health students from UC Irvine - they go down to Mexico every month to help run a free clinic. I've also started volunteering at an orphanage in Tijuana with my church.
Author of the memoir, Hindsight: Coming of age on the streets of Hollywood and the middle school fiction series: The Resilience Group. There are a number of works in progress, including 2 stand-alone YA books.
