I started medical school in my 30s, and moved to the Caribbean with my husband and 3 kids. It's been quite an adventure, and I'm glad they went on this wild ride with me. I trained in Family Medicine and work as a Hospitalist. When I'm not working, I'm pretty busy doing everything else.
In my free time, I love to help out at My Friend's Place in Hollywood. I recently joined the Board of Directors (2022) as their first alumni member.
Prior volunteer work (pre-pandemic): I've also traveled overseas to volunteer in Dominica after Hurricane Maria, I spent a week in Haiti over the summer in 2018 (our return trip was postponed this year due to political unrest), and I volunteered with a great group of pre-health students from UC Irvine - they go down to Mexico every month to help run a free clinic.
Author of the memoir, Hindsight: Coming of age on the streets of Hollywood and a middle grade Junior Hindsight series, YIMBY, as well as the first 5 books of a middle school fiction series helping kids deal with difficult traumas: The Resilience Group.
